Finding good eBay keywords is simpler than it sounds: think about how you would ask for the product if you were the buyer.
Walk into a store looking for a shirt and you probably don't just ask, "Do you have a shirt?" You describe what you want: a men's slim-fit dress shirt, long sleeve, white, size large.
eBay works the same way. Buyers add the details that lead them to the exact product they want — brand, model, size, color, material, compatibility, whatever genuinely matters for that item. Those details are your keyword ideas.
How Would You Search for It?
Imagine you don't own the product yet. What would you type into eBay to find it? If you bought it yourself once, remember how you searched and which words mattered.
But you don't have to figure everything out from scratch.
Want a Faster Way?
Tools can help with this now. Zetlis was built to make this process easier. Upload your product photos and it analyzes the item, suggests relevant keywords, and creates three complete, ready-to-use eBay titles.
Why three? The same product can often be described accurately in more than one way — one title might lead with the brand and model, another with a key feature or style, and another with a different mix of relevant search terms. You can choose any of the three exactly as it is, or customize it by adding or removing suggested keywords, adding your own, or editing the title however you want.
Three complete titles, ready to use — with the freedom to make any of them your own.

Want to Research the Keywords Yourself?
Search eBay for your product, look at genuinely comparable items, then filter to sold listings. Notice the accurate terms that appear again and again — those are the words buyers and successful sellers already use. eBay's search-bar autocomplete is another quick source of phrasing, and Product Research in Seller Hub shows how products and categories are performing if you want more evidence.
You're not looking for somebody else's title to copy. You're learning the language people already use for that product.
Don't assume a completely different description will put you ahead. Different isn't automatically better. Accurate and recognizable matter more. Every keyword has to match the item you actually have — never add a popular term just because it's popular.
You Found the Keywords. Now Build the Title.
Finding keywords and deciding which ones deserve space in eBay's 80-character title are two different jobs. Our guide on how to add keywords to your eBay title covers the second one.
Trying Another Approach Later
After Zetlis analyzes a product, that listing stays saved in your Zetlis History. You can come back later, work with a different title and keyword approach, and publish it again — without spending another analysis credit on a product you've already analyzed. If a listing isn't getting seen, what to do when your eBay listing gets no views is a good next read.
The Short Version
Think about how a buyer would search. Describe what the product actually is. Look at how comparable products are described and sold. Use the language buyers recognize.
Good keyword research isn't about being different. It's about speaking the same language as the person looking for what you're selling.
